What is catnip?

Catnip, nepata cataria, is a member of the mint family. Catnip is natural and harmless to cats and produces a euphoric effect that lasts for a few minutes. Molly really enjoys catnip, but not all cats respond to it. Cats that do respond to catnip come back to their toys again and again!

Catnip affects around 80% of cats and kittens will not respond to it until they are between 4-8 months old.

Will my cat like your mice?

We hope so! The sensitivity to catnip is genetic and varies in intensity between cats, and it's estimated that around 80% of cats will enjoy catnip. Young kittens are not normally affected by catnip as the attraction develops when they reach about 6-8 months old. If your cat is not sensitive to catnip he or she will not react to it at all.

How durable are your mice?

We use hardwearing craft grade cotton for our mice and our early testers report their mice are still regularly being played with. Over time with repeated use the catnip leaf will get ground down to a powdery state and the mouse will feel 'flat'. We do recommend you replace any worn or damaged mice.

Are your mice washable?

We do not recommend you wash our mice, we cannot guarantee all fabrics are colour-fast and in addition you may get staining from the catnip leaf. There is also a risk that the tail will get caught in the drum. Washing will also reduce the potency of the catnip filling.

How do I order from you?

Click on Catnip Mice in the menu bar, click on the mouse colours that you want and add them to your basket and then go to the Checkout when you've finished shopping. Any postage charges and discounts will be applied at the checkout.

Can I order over the phone with a credit or debit card?

At present we cannot take telephone orders. Payment by BACS or cheque is possible, please contact us for details.

How soon will you send out my order?

We aim to ship all orders by the end of the next working day after you place your order. You will receive a confirmation email after we have posted your order. UK orders with Standard delivery are sent 1st class and International orders by Airmail Small Packet. Royal Mail Special Delivery (guaranteed next working day) is available at extra cost for UK orders only.
